No matter what era, women love shoes and handbags. Throughout the vintage years, women's shoes were fairly sturdy, with many laced up. While brown shoes are featured on our stickers, black was far more popular. Flats and slip-on shoes became popular in the late 1950s, giving way to sneakers (athletic shoes) as appropriate everyday wear. Handbags during the vintage years were crafted by professional leather workers, however, material was easier to work with, making heavy brocade also suitable. Patterns and beads gave handbags a special place on the fashion scene.
